Avo Chocco Mousse 

Let's talk Easter and chocolate. Try this for a healthy take on a chocolate mousse and don't let the avocado put you off !!!

60 secs in a blender and you're done ! A perfect solution when you're hit with a craving. Snack or dessert? These well-balanced sweets are made with just a couple of ingredients. We all know how good avocado is but raw cacao also packs a huge nutritional punch. Give them a whirl.

Avo Choc Mousse

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 4-6 tbsp raw cacao powder 
  • 125-175 ml water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 2 or 3 pitted dried dates – optional

Method 

Whizz up the flesh of one avocado, the raw cacao powder, the water, and the vanilla extract. Add a couple of pitted dried dates for extra sweetness if needed. The trick with this recipe is to start with the lower amount of each ingredient, blend, then taste. Exactly how much you need will depend on the exact size of the avocado you are using as well as the minimum liquid your blender requires in order to operate and blend the ingredients. Start with 125ml water then add just a bit more until your blender turns the avocado and cacao powder into a very fluffy, light, mousse. If you are using dates, blend the water and dates first, then add the remaining ingredients to ensure the smoothest result. Spoon equally into two dishes. Eat immediately or chill in the fridge for later. Top with fresh berries YUM !
